James Rossiter will not contest Friday's
first practice at Silverstone as Force India revealed his outing was
dependent on a dry track.
The American was scheduled to make his grand prix debut at the British GP,
replacing Adrian Sutil in first practice.
However, as the rain came down on Thursday evening and had not let up into Friday morning, the team opted to keep him out of the car.
"The wet track means that, unfortunately, James Rossiter won't get the previously announced FP1 run," Force India Tweeted.
"His work was dependent on dry conditions."
Sutil will therefore be back in the car alongside Paul di Resta with Force India vowing to find another opportunity for Rossiter.
"The team will evaluate other future opportunities for James to drive the VJM06, in conditions that will be more representative for the sim," the team concluded.
